ADOPTION PROCESS
The Process
All of our dogs are all placed in foster homes where they can decompress, experience family life and get lots and lots of love. Every dog receives needed veterinary services, is spayed or neutered, and fully vaccinated. Once they are ready for adoption, they are posted on our website and we begin accepting applications.
Finding the perfect home for our dogs is top priority. After an application is processed by checking references, we schedule a meet and greet where the prospective adoptive family gets to spend time getting to know the dog. Applications are given final approval when we know that the dog is a perfect fit for the family, and the family is a perfect fit for the dog!
APPLICATION
To ensure our dogs get the very best care, we do charge an adoption fee, which varies between $400 and $450.
Adoption Note:
We here at WWK9 believe that adoptions are forever! We do our best to match our dogs with families that are a perfect fit for each other. Please note that it takes a great deal of time (about. a year!) for newly adopted dogs to acclimate to their new homes and all the new experiences that they are given. We highly recommend a long decompression period and slowly introducing new experiences, one at a time, for short periods. Patience and understanding go a long way in helping a dog settle in.
We consider ourselves and our adoptive families a team and must work together to ensure the dog is getting the best care available. If it is evident that the dog is not a match after all, and all resources such as trainer, veterinarian. or other expert consults have been exhausted, please note that WWK9 will require full medical and behavioral evaluation (from a reputable trainer) before a dog can be returned. This information will be crucial as we are committed to giving our dogs the best life possible!
